He said of the 36,500 climbers, as many as 18 percent were climbers from abroad.

"Most of them are from France or European countries and Malaysia," said Yarman.

"If the increase is from 2024, we can't count it yet. Usually at the end of the year, we can only do complete data. This is only July," he continued.

Yarman said that currently are the peaks of climbing to Rinjani. Through three main entrances, such as Sembalun, Senaru, and Torean. Including in Timbanu and Aik Berik in Central Lombok.

"So, now it's really high in climbing," he said.

However, currently BTNGR has temporarily closed climbing tourism that passes the Pelawan Sembalun route to Segara Anak Lake on Mount Rinjani. This closure is valid until an undetermined time limit.

"I ordered tickets for the e-Rinjani application and climbing activities to and from the Sembalun Volunteers route to Segara Anak Lake are temporarily closed," he said.

The closure was carried out as an effort to improve the services of natural tourism facilities and the management of sustainable conservation areas in Mount Rinjani National Park.
