Zelenskyy Discusses Missile Supply To Mirage Fighter Jet Pilot With Macron

JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed supply of missiles and funding for interceptor drones to ward off Russian attacks in a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday.

"I specifically want to emphasize our agreement on pilot training for French Mirage jets ready to train additional pilots using additional aircraft," Zelenskyy said on X.

Zelenskyy said he and Macron were also coordinating further political steps.

The latest debate between Zelenskyy and Macron comes as the European Union approved a package of 18th sanctions against Russia over the war in Ukraine, including measures aimed at hitting the Russian oil and energy industry further.

Macron said this new sanctions package had never happened before.

"We need more than ever to remind ourselves that Europe's security, freedom and future are closely related to Ukraine's fate," Macron wrote on X.

"In this regard, I welcome the implementation of a new, unprecedented sanction package against Russia by the European Union this morning. The Russian attack must be stopped immediately," he continued.
