Two Drunk Buskers Steal Gas Cylinders At Elite Duren Sawit Housing, 1 Person Arrested

JAKARTA - An act of theft took place in the elite housing estate in the Pondok Kopi area, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta. This time, the perpetrator broke into a luxury house in an empty condition left by the owner.

Luckily, the actions of the perpetrators were discovered by residents around the housing estate. One perpetrator with the initials WD was also arrested by residents who had caught him. WD was arrested along with a number of evidences. Meanwhile, WD's friends managed to escape from the residents' pursuit.

From the perpetrator's confession with the initials WD to the residents, he was forced to steal because he did not have another job.

"It's forced, uncle, here (Jakarta) is a difficult job. I usually sing. I've been drinking (drugs) of four tramadol pills," WD admitted to the residents.

WD usually travels from house to house with his friend. While singing, he saw that the empty house was then marked by him.

After singing, WD returned to the empty house to look for valuables.

"Earlier, I ran out of empty houses, took the goods inside and wanted to go to kiloin. I had to do this," he said.

Meanwhile, from the statement of the housing security officer, Erik said, in his action the perpetrator brought sacks into an empty house in H1 Block Pondok Kopi Housing.

"He took action together, carrying sacks filled with gas cylinders. The two of them. One fled," he said, Friday, July 18, 2025.

For further processing, the perpetrator and the evidence were finally brought to the Duren Sawit Police.
