JAKARTA - The health condition of a 7-day-old baby who was abandoned by a couple of her biological parents has gradually stabilized on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

"The condition of the baby is currently in good health and we have left the baby at Duren Sawit hospital, the regional public hospital in Duren Sawit," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly when confirmed.

Even though his condition is healthy, the baby boy is still undergoing health care.

"Until now the baby is still in the hospital," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the handling of babies, the Police Chief said he had to go through several stage SOPs.

"So we go through ministries or institutions related to this. We conducted an assessment first together with relevant institutions or ministries if it is true that they are sure that the results can be accounted for and can be trusted, then further actions will be taken in accordance with the applicable SOP," said the Police Chief.

As is known, residents of RT 06/05, Ujung Krawang, Pulogebang Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta were shocked by the sound of a baby crying that occurred on Monday night, July 14, 2025.

The sound of the cry initially came from in front of the door of the house of a resident named Haji Tohir.

"When I wanted to recite the Koran, worked together. Then my wife also heard, said there was a cat's voice. 'Sir, how come the cat sounds like a orok'," Haji Tohir told reporters, Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

Even the owner of the house did not expect that the voice was an innocent baby dumped by an unknown person in front of his door.

A day later, the couple who threw away the baby boy were finally arrested by the East Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim PPA Unit.

The two perpetrators were arrested based on tracing CCTV footage around the location and the investigation process carried out by the East Jakarta Metro Police and the Cakung Police.

"The two perpetrators were arrested in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency. Both have the initials MR (20) and HAA (29) women. Now they have been detained," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly to reporters, Wednesday, July 16, 2025.

Dari hasil pemeriksaan polisi, kedua pelaku merupakan pasangan kekasih yang melakukan 'kumpul kebo' sejak tahun 2024 di sebuah indokost kawasan Cikarang, Kabupaten Bekasi.
