JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Social Affairs (Wamensos) Agus Jabo Priyono stated that social assistance (bansos) for recipients who are indicated to be used to play judionine (judol) will be studied first, the distribution will not immediately stop.
He emphasized that currently the Ministry of Social Affairs is coordinating intensively with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) to check the problems that occur in the accounts of the recipients of the social assistance who are indicated to use the assistance for judol.
"We are currently assessing, we are investigating, if it is true, then they will use social assistance for gambling, so we have to finish it later, but this must go through an in-depth study process, we don't understand, you know, it could be, for example, the account is used (other people)," Agus said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 16.
He explained that the recipients of the social assistance could also not know if they were involved in the online gambling.
"It could be, for example, if the account is used. They may not know that it is gambling, they play games, that's it or the communication tool is borrowed by other parties," he said.
Therefore, he said, the Ministry of Social Affairs could not immediately conclude or take action before the process of deepening social assistance accounts indicated to be used for judol after being investigated by PPATK.
"We have submitted our data to PPATK so that we can check what problems are in these accounts, because previously the distribution process had problems, then compared to the NIK who was at the Ministry of Social Affairs with online players, then PPATK was found to be around 500 thousand," he said.
Previously, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) found 571,410 population identification numbers (NIK) registered as recipients of social assistance involved as judol players throughout 2024.
