A Flat in Sawah Besar was Converted Into a DrugWarehouse, Resulting in the Arrest of One Woman and Two Men.

JAKARTA - A boarding house on Jalan Industri, Gunung Sahari, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, was raided by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Investigation Unit after it was being converted into a narcotics storage warehouse.

The raid resulted in the arrest of three individuals for involvement in drug abuse and trafficking.

The perpetrators are identified as OP (35), RB (31), and L (25), a woman. All three are residents of the Sawah Besar District.

During questioning, all three tested positive for methamphetamine based on urine tests.

The Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, AKBP Roby Heri Saputra, stated that several pieces of evidence were seized from the raid location, including two plastic bags of Chinese tea containing 2,067 grams of methamphetamine, five medium-sized plastic bags weighing 420 grams, three digital scales, a plastic press, and a press.

In addition, police also confiscated several boxes and shopping bags, two mobile phones, and other packaging equipment.

"The total amount of methamphetamine seized was 2,487 grams, or almost 2.5 kilograms," said Senior Commissioner Roby when confirmed by VOI on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

The Head of the Police explained that the raid began with a report from the public who suspected suspicious activity at the location.

"We immediately followed up on the information by conducting an intensive investigation. Sure enough, we found strong indications of drug abuse and packaging activity at the location," he said.

The three perpetrators were identified as part of a drug trafficking syndicate in the Sawah Besar area. The perpetrators and several pieces of evidence were taken to the Central Jakarta Metro Police for further processing.

Currently, the police are still conducting further investigations and developing the case to uncover a wider network.

"We will not stop here. We will continue to investigate and develop the case to identify everyone involved in this network," he said.

As a result of their actions, the three perpetrators were charged under Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph (2) of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, which carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment or the death penalty.
