Banten Police Search The Muamaroh BMT Cooperative Office Regarding Alleged Fraud Of Rp9.1 Billion

JAKARTA - The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Banten Police searched the office of the Baitul Mal Wa Tamwil (BMT) Muamaroh Cooperative in Anyer District, Serang Regency, Banten.

The Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Kombes Didik Haryanto, said the search was a follow-up to the handling of reports of alleged fraud and/or embezzlement worth more than Rp9.1 billion.

"It is true (the search was carried out) for investigation as a follow-up to the victim's report," Didik told VOI, Tuesday, July 15.

However, it was not disclosed in detail about the results of the search that took place on Monday, July 14.

So far, it is only known that reports of alleged fraud and/or embezzlement made by customers have been received by the Banten Police since June 20, 2025.

A total of 205 victims have given their attorneys to a team consisting of Andre Scondery, Ahmadi, and Afa Sukuhan.

"We express our deepest gratitude to the Banten Police for their professional, fast, and firm performance in responding to reports from customers," said the victim's attorney, Ahmadi.

According to him, the public really appreciates the quick response from the police. Many of them came directly to the location to witness the search.

"This is a form of people's hope that wants to see justice served. The victims feel very appreciated because their reports are being followed up seriously," said Ahmadi.

Hundreds of deceived victims are said to have come from several areas. Most come from Anyer and its surroundings.

"We are handling the case of BMT This Cooperative represents about 200 members or customers who feel aggrieved," said Ahmadi.

With the legal process from the police, it is hoped that everything will go according to the rules. So, customers can immediately regain their rights.

"We believe the Banten Police will continue to oversee this case thoroughly and ensure that the victims get refunds that are suspected of having been embezzled," said Ahmadi.
