French President Macron: From Jakarta To Paris, Our Strategic Partnership Is Getting Stronger

French President Emmanuel Macron thanked Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto for the celebration of French National Day Bastille Day which was held on Monday.

In his upload on Instagram, President Macron also appreciated the performance of the Indonesian soldiers and cadets appearing to open the troop defile in the celebration.

"Thank you for your presence at the celebration of our national day, Prabowo's best friend. I am very proud to see the Indonesian army line up with our troops," he wrote as quoted on July 15.

In the same upload, President Macron wrote that he still has memories of visiting the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java last May, as well as a meeting with TNI soldiers who are studying French.

"From Jakarta to Paris, our strategic partnership is increasingly alive and strong," said President Macron.

Meanwhile, President Prabowo in a separate post wished "Happy National Day" to France, thanking President Macron for the friendship.

"Thank you Mr. President for the invitation to your honor and the friendship that unites our two countries," wrote President Prabowo.

It is known that soldiers from three TNI and Polri dimensions as well as cadet-taruni integrated drumbands from the Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Police Academy totaling 451 people who are members of the Patriot II Task Force Contingent, have the honor of being the front troop at the 2025 Bastille Day military parade.

Bastille Day or La F greatte Nationale is the National Day of the Republic of France which is held annually. This refers to the raid on Bastille Prison on July 14, 1789 which was assessed as the beginning of the French Revolution.

The military parade is part of a series of celebrations of Bastille Day. The parade began to be held in 1880, making it one of the world's oldest military parades through the Avenue des Champs- greatlysles of Place Charles de Gaulle, which centers around Arc de Triomphe, to the Place de la Concorde.
