The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Natar Police, South Lampung Police (Lamsel), arrested three members of a gang of specialists in the theft of onderdil Bus belonging to the Lampung Province Transportation Service (Dishub) with evidence of dozens of iron vehicles.

The Head of the Natar Police, AKP Budi Howo, in South Lampung, Monday confirmed that his party had arrested three perpetrators, namely H (42), MFS (25), and A (45) who had committed onderdil theft at the Haduyang Village Bus Pool, Natar District.

"It is true, we have secured the three perpetrators along with evidence. They act as the main perpetrators of the theft and repair of bus vehicles belonging to the Lampung Transportation Service. One of the perpetrators is a resident of Pesawaran and the other two are domiciled in South Lampung and Bandar Lampung," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

According to him, the process of arresting the perpetrators made it difficult for officers, because the suspects were in three different areas.

Then the team immediately moved and succeeded in arresting MFS at Tugu Market, Bandarlampung, followed by the arrest of perpetrator A in Tanjung Sari Village, Natar District," he said.

During the inspection process, he said, the three perpetrators admitted to stealing and selling onderdil from 14 buses including six large buses and 8 medium bus units parked at the Transportation Service Pool.

The items stolen included injection, alternator, air conditioner, radiator, turbo, gardan, speedometer, coupling, as wheel, power steering, tires, driver's seat, main lights, and engine blocks. The total loss is estimated at IDR 540 million," he said.

He explained that after the arrest and examination, the police managed to secure evidence in the form of official vehicle parts, three inventory cards and machines belonging to the Lampung Provincial Transportation Service, as well as a list of the recapitulation of vehicle goods belonging to the Transportation Service.

"The modus operandi of the perpetrators is to break into vehicles parked in the pool and then take high-value spare parts. This action is carried out when the area is quiet," he said.

For their actions, the three perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with Weighting, with a maximum penalty of 7 years in prison.
