Speaking at the ASEAN Post Ministerial Conference (PMC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Foreign Minister Sugiono underlined the three main issues that ASEAN-India paid attention to, namely regional security, economic cooperation and food security.

In terms of economics, Foreign Minister Sugiono emphasized the importance of driving inclusive and sustainable economic growth, especially in the midst of a slowdown in the global economy.

For this reason, Foreign Minister Sugiono assessed that ASEAN and India need to strengthen economic cooperation, deepen business-to-business interactions, and improve maritime connectivity between regions.

Foreign Minister Sugiono added that Indonesia supports the adoption of Plan of Action to Implement the ASEAN India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership 2026 2030, which will guide the direction of cooperation in the next five years

"India's ASEAN Partnership has been tested for more than three decades. Now is the time for us to strengthen the foundation of more visionary, inclusive, and real impact cooperation," said the Indonesian Foreign Minister.
