JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) announced five suspects for alleged corruption in the procurement of EDC machines for Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) or BBRI. One of them is Catur Budi Harto, who is the former Deputy Director of Bank BRI, which has been prevented from leaving the country for six months.

Catur was named a suspect with Indra Utoyo who is a former Director of Information Technology Digital (ICT) and BRI Operations and Dedi Sunardi who is a SEVP for BRI Activatement and Procurement Management.

Meanwhile, the private sector designated is Elvizar, who is the former Director of PT Pacific Cipta Solusi and Rudi Suprayudi from PT Bringin Inti Teknologi. They are suspected of having harmed state finances amounting to Rpp744,540,374,314.

In this case, Catur is said to have received IDR 525 million from Elvizar as the former Director of PT PCS in the form of two bicycles and horses.

"Meanwhile, DS as SEVP for BRI's Activate and Procurement Management in 2020 received a Cannondale-branded bicycle from El worth Rp. 60 million," explained Asep.

In addition, Rudy Suprayudi as President Director of PT Bringin Inti Teknologi received money from Irni Palar as Country Manager of PT Verifone Indonesia and Teddy Riyanto Account Manager of PT Verifone Indonesia in 2020-2024 for BRILink and FMS' work worth IDR 19.72 billion.

The procurement of the EDC, continued Asep, was carried out with a scheme to buy and buy out and rent. There were a number of frauds, including a meeting between Catur and Elvizar with Indra Utoyo which led to an agreement.

The five suspects have not yet been detained. The KPK will continue to examine witnesses until the search for evidence.

As a result of their actions, the five were suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 3 and Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
