PASAMAN - Pasaman Resort Police (Polres), West Sumatra, stated that the MI perpetrator (37) who shot the victim MHM (36) to death was suspected of having serious depression.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pasaman Police, AKP Fion Joni Hayes, said the shooting incident used a 4-caliber air rifle with a target on the victim's head.

Kejadin took place in Lubuk Attitude, Tuesday, July 8 at around 12.00 WIB.

"After we examined the perpetrator was severely depressed and he was desperate to shoot the victim who was a neighbor of the perpetrator," said Hayes in Pasaman, Antara, Wednesday, July 9.

In addition, he said, the information gathered by the perpetrators was also suspected of using drugs.

"Currently, the perpetrators have been detained in the custody of the Pasaman Police," said Fion.

He said the incident began when the victim was working at one of the water depots (recharges) drinking 789 Jorong Pasa Kaciak, Nagari Tanjung Beringin Utara, Lubuk Attitude District, Pasaman Regency.

"Without a signal, the MI (37) perpetrator came and immediately shot the victim in the head with a 4 caliber air rifle," he said.

The perpetrator also hit the gun handle on the victim's head, causing the victim to fall and be rushed to the emergency room, Imam Bonjol Lubuk Attitude.

"The bullet of the air rifle is lodged in the victim's head. According to the results, the X-rays suffered lacerations and six stitches have been sewn," he said.

After that the victim was referred to RSUP M. Djamil Padang at around 17.00 WIB using an ambulance at the Hospital to call Imam Bonjol.

"However, on the way around the city of Bukittinggi, the victim was reported dead," he said.

Furthermore, the victim's family made a police report to the Pasaman Police with the number: LP/B/36/VII/2025/SPKT/POLRES PASAMAN/POLDA SUMATRA dated July 8, 2025.

The MI perpetrator (37), he said, had been named a suspect with a criminal act of severe abuse.

"Tersangka dijerat tindak pidana pasal 351 ayat 2 tentang penganiayaan berat dengan ancaman hukuman di atas lima tahun penjara," tutupnya.

"The suspect was charged with a criminal act of Article 351 paragraph 2 concerning severe persecution with a penalty of more than five years in prison," he concluded.
