DKI BPBD: Floods In Penjaringan Jakut Due To Rob And Rainfall

JAKARTA - Two RTs in Kapuk Muara Village, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta were flooded due to high rainfall accompanied by tidal flooding or coastal flooding, on Tuesday morning. According to records from the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the water level reached 65 centimeters (Cm).

"As of 06.00 WIB, two RTs were recorded to have been flooded with a height of up to 65 centimeters (cm)," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji, Tuesday, July 8.

He said based on information from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) there was an early warning of coastal flooding (rob) from July 4 to July 13, 2025.

This tidal flood phenomenon is due to the maximum tide of sea water along with the Perigee and New Moon phases which have the potential to increase the maximum sea level in the northern coastal area of Jakarta.

This condition caused the Fish Market Water Gate to be on standby or on Alert 2 on Monday, July 7, at 14.00 WIB.

In addition, the rain that hit the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings caused an increase in the Angke Hulu Alert Post / Siaga 3 on Monday, July 7, at 05.00 WIB, rose to Alert 2 / Alert at 20.00 WIB, up to alert 1 or danger at 22.00 WIB.

Monitoring Post for Sunter Hulu Alert/Siaga 3 on Monday, July 7, at 14.00 WIB rose to Alert 2/Alert at 21.00 WIB.

Katulampa Alert Dam / Siaga 3 on Monday, July 7, at 19.00 WIB, Manggarai Water Gate Alert / Alert 3 on Monday, July 7, at 21.00 WIB.

Then, Karet Alert / Alert 3 Water Gate on Monday, July 7, at 21.00 WIB rose to Alert 2 / Alert at 22.00 WIB which caused several puddles in the DKI Jakarta area.

BPBD DKI Jakarta noted that as of Tuesday morning there were 46 RTs that were still flooded due to high rainfall and tidal flooding in West Jakarta, East Jakarta, South Jakarta and North Jakarta.

BPBD DKI Jakarta mobilizes personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region and coordinate elements of the Natural Resources Service, Highways Office, Gulkarmat Service to carry out inundation suction and ensure that the water lines function properly together with the local village heads and sub-district heads and prepare basic needs for survivors.

"The inundation is targeted to recede in a short time," said Isnawa.

In addition, he appealed to the public to remain careful and alert to potential inundation.

"In an emergency, immediately call phone number 112 and this service is free and operates for 24 hours non-stop," he said.
