JAKARTA - The Asset Recovery Agency (BPA) of the Attorney General's Office (AGO) has verified confiscated assets from PT Orbit Terminal Merak (OTM) in Cilegon, Banten, which are related to cases of alleged corruption in the management of crude oil and refinery products.
Plt. Head of the BPA Management, Tracing and Confiscation Center Emilwan Ridwan detailed that the verified assets are two plots of land and buildings with the following details:
One plot of land and buildings covering an area of 31,921 square meters along with the building on it with SHGB Number 119 located in Lebak Gede Village, Pulo Merak District, Cilegon City, Banten on behalf of PT Orbit Terminal Merak.
One plot of land and building covering an area of 190,684 square meters along with buildings or objects that have economic value on it along with SHGB Number 32 located in Lebak Gede Village, Pulo Merak District, Cilegon City, Banten on behalf of PT Orbit Terminal Merak.
Emilwan said this verification activity was part of efforts to manage and secure state assets.
"The Asset Recovery Agency has an important mandate in the governance of confiscated objects and evidence to ensure its use value and economic value are maintained and prevent abuse by unauthorized parties," he said.
This verification activity is also part of the asset management process for competent parties, in this case State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), as stipulated in the Minister of SOEs Regulation Number PER-1/MBU/03/2023 concerning Special Assignments and the SOE Responsibility and Environment Program.
This step, he said, was taken as a form of state responsibility to ensure the operational continuity of PT OTM which has a strategic role in oil distribution in the Java, parts of Sumatra, and West Kalimantan, as well as considering the social and welfare aspects of employees who are still actively working in the company.
"We need to emphasize that the ongoing legal process does not immediately stop the company's operational activities," he said.
In addition to asset verification, in this activity, the internal assessment team from the BPA was also involved to assess the value of assets as the basis for the preparation of an accountable and efficient management strategy.
Previously, investigators at the Jampidsus AGO had confiscated two plots of land along with buildings and objects that were part of the PT OTM area.
The confiscation is related to cases of alleged corruption in crude oil management and refinery products at PT Pertamina Subholding and cooperation contract contractors (KKKS) in 2018'2023.
Meanwhile, PT OTM is a company owned by two suspects in this case, namely Muhammad Kerry Adrianto Riza (MKAR) and Gading Ramadhan Joedo (GRJ).
Currently, the case has entered the prosecution stage.
In line with that, at the end of June 2025, the assets were handed over to the BPA for further management, security, and maintenance in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.
