KPK Regarding Bobby Nasution's Summons Regarding The Road Project Bribery Case In North Sumatra: Wait For Investigators' Needs

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the summons of North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution regarding the bribery case for road construction projects at the PUPR Service and PJN Satker Region 1 North Sumatra could not be carried out arbitrarily.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said the summons in corruption cases must be adjusted to the needs of investigators. The search for evidence will also be carried out first by examining witnesses or conducting searches.

"Later we will see the needs of investigators (related to Bobby Nasution's summons, ed)," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, July 7.

This condition, continued Budi, made the KPK ask the public to continue to monitor the investigation of alleged bribery that was being carried out.

"KPK will depart from the evidence found by investigators and of course the investigator's need is also to summon and examine certain parties and then ask for information," he said.

"So that the handling of this case can also become clear, can be completed, it can really reach the parties who play a role in committing this criminal act of corruption, including those who also receive the flow of the proceeds of this corruption midwife act," continued Budi.

As previously reported, the KPK held a hand arrest operation (OTT) in the North Sumatra region on Thursday, June 26. It is suspected that money was given in the road construction project in the province.

From this activity, five people were finally named as suspects. They are the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Service (PUPR) Topan Obaja Putra Ginting or Topan Ginting; Effendi Siregar Rasul as the Head of the UPTD Gunung Tua North Sumatra Province PUPR Service concurrently the Commitment Making Officer (PPK); Heliyanto as PPK PJN Satker Region I North Sumatra Province; M. Akhirun Efendi Siregar as the President Director of PT DNG; and M. Rayhan Dulasmi PIlang as the Director of PT RN.

Setelah ditetapkan jadi tersangka, Topan bersama empat orang lainnya akan ditahan di Rutan KPK. Upaya paksa ini dilaksanakan selama 20 hari pertama dan akan diperpanjang sesuai kebutuhan penyidik.
