KPK Finds Out Investment Of Former Secretary General Of MPR Ma'ruf Cahyono Who Is Suspected Of Using Gratification Money

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to investigate where the money from the gratuities of the former Secretary General of the MPR Ma'ruf Cahyono flows.

This step was taken by examining Jonathan Hartono as a private employee on Wednesday, July 2. Requests for information were made at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

"Witnesses were present to be investigated regarding the investment made by the suspect," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters, Thursday, July 3.

Budi said investigators should also examine a witness, namely Andi Wirawan, who is an entrepreneur. However, he was not present because he asked for a reschedule.

The KPK confirmed that Ma'ruf had been named a suspect. The investigation warrant (sprindik) was issued last June.

"In this case, the KPK has named a suspect with the initials MC as Secretary General of the MPR RI for the 2019-2021 period," explained Budi.

Previously reported, the KPK investigated allegations of receiving gratuities related to procurement in the MPR environment. VOI sources said the figure was former Secretary General of the MPR Ma'ruf Cahyono.

In this case, Ma'ruf was charged with Article 12B of the Anti-Corruption Law. He is suspected of receiving gratuities of up to IDR 17 billion.

However, the amount of money received can still increase. This is because the calculation and search of witnesses are still ongoing.
