The Leader Of The Asusila Defendant Islamic Boarding School In Lombok Sued 19 Years In Prison

The Central Lombok District Attorney, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) stated that the criminal charges against the head of the Islamic boarding school (Ponpes) accused of immoral cases against his students were 19 years in prison.

"The prosecutor demanded that the panel of judges sentence the defendant to 19 years in prison and a fine of Rp1,000,000,000," said Head of Intelligence Section of the Central Lombok Kejari Made Juri Imanu in Central Lombok, Thursday, July 3.

He said the defendant MT, the leader of one of the Islamic boarding schools in Pringrata District, is believed to have been proven to have had sexual intercourse with a minor who is also his female student.

"Because the defendant MT is the head of the boarding school who has a power relationship with the victim's child so that the victim's child can easily be persuaded by the defendant MT to have sex," he said.

Previously, the defendant MT had also forced the victim's child to have sex in the classroom at the location of the Islamic boarding school, as this was in accordance with the facts of the trial related to a series of evidence presented by the Public Prosecutor in the trial process.

"The General Prosecutor considers that the actions of the defendant MT have been legally and convincingly proven to have sexual intercourse with children carried out by teaching staff," he said.

He said as regulated in the second alternative indictment, violating Article 81 paragraph (2) Jo (3) of Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection as amended by Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of PERPU Number 1 of 2016 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection into Law.

"This demand was filed as a form of commitment from the Central Lombok District Attorney in enforcing the law and protecting children's rights as victims of sexual crimes, especially those committed by people who have a position or relationship with power, such as educators," he said.
