Saeful Bahri Asks For Operational Money For PAW Management, Hasto: From The Start I Ban Asking

PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto stated that he had never approved the management of the Inter-Time Substitution (PAW) Harun Masiku using dirty methods. Hasto had time to reprimand Saeful Bahri when he heard information about the request for a sum of 'operational' money.

This statement was made by Hasto Kristiyanto when he was examined as a defendant in the trial of the alleged bribery case for the administration of the DPR PAW for the 2019-2024 period and the obstruction of Harun Masiku's investigation.

"I received a report that Saeful's brother asked Harun Nasiku for funds, so, then my action was to give a stern warning to Saeful Bahri's brother," said Hasto during a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Thursday, June 26.

Hasto stated that he immediately asked Harun Masiku not to give Saeful Bahri a penny.

Furthermore, Saeful Bahri was asked to come to the Aspirational House on Jalan Sultan Syahrir, Central Jakarta. At the meeting, Hasto firmly reprimanded him.

Because from the start there was a ban on asking for money. Saeful finally apologized for his actions.

"I said like this 'why did you ask Harun Masiku for funds, from the start I emphasized that it was forbidden to ask for funds' and then Saeful apologized. There was no discussion regarding the KPU, including lobbying with the KPU," said Hasto, imitating his statement at that time to Saeful Bahri.

The strong reprimand on Saeful Bahri was also proven by his not being invited to the activities held by Hasto.

"So because I received information, brother Saeful Bahri asked, I immediately gave a warning to Saeful Bahri. Then he immediately apologized, so then I thought it happened eee.. in the month of eee.. because after that I did not invite an event at the Aspiration House because I gave a strong warning to Saeful," said Hasto.

In this case, Hasto together with advocate Donny Tri Istiqomah, former PDIP cadre Saeful Bahri, and Harun Masiku were charged with giving bribes of Rp 600 million to Wahyu Setiawan (KPU commissioner) in the 2019-2020 period.

This bribe is so that Wahyu seeks the KPU to approve the application of PAW for the South Sumatra Election Candidate (Sumsel) I on behalf of DPR members for the 2019-2024 period Riezky Aprilia to Harun Masiku.

Hasto was also charged with obstructing the investigation by ordering Harun, through the Aspiration House guard, Nur Hasan, to submerge Harun's cell phone into the water after the KPK OTT incident against Wahyu Setiawan.

Not only Harun Masiku's cellphone, Hasto is also said to have ordered his aide, Kusnadi, to drown his cell phone in anticipation of forced attempts by KPK investigators.

Hasto was charged with Article 21 and Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 13 of Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 65 paragraph (1) and Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
