JAKARTA - The European Commission is increasing its support for the Palestinian people by allocating a total of 202 million euros (IDR 3,822,446,000,000) to the United Nations Aid and Works Agency in the Near East (UNRWA) and the Palestinian Authority under the Comprehensive and Multi-yearly Program for the Restoration and Resilience of Palestine, reads a press release issued by the commission.
It said 150 million euros (IDR 2,838,450,000,000) had been allocated to support the Palestinian Authority in ensuring the provision of major public services, including payment of salaries for teachers, civil servants and health care workers.

On the other hand, UNRWA received support of 52 million euros (Rp983,996,000,000) to support the provision of essential services, including education, primary health services, and emergency assistance for Palestinian refugees in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and host countries such as Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.
