JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto appointed the Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan as the Head of the Red and White Cooperative Task Force as the President's priority program that plays a role in strengthening the village economy.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said President Prabowo formed the Red and White Cooperative Task Force while chairing a limited meeting related to the acceleration of the construction of the Red and White Cooperative at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, Monday, June 23.
"The fourth limited meeting held by President Prabowo Subianto on Monday, June 23, 2025, discussed the acceleration of the development of the Red and White Cooperative as an effort to strengthen the village economy and shorten the supply chain for the basic needs of the community," wrote Seskab Teddy in a statement reported by ANTARA.
Seskab explained that the Red and White Cooperative is a national strategy in strengthening the village economy and shortening the supply chain for the basic needs of the community.
Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, along with a number of related ministers, including the Minister of Cooperatives Budi Arie Setiadi, were also present at the meeting.
Seskab Teddy explained that this cooperative does not only play a role in cutting the length of distribution channels between producers and consumers, but will also be the main distributor of various basic needs of society.
"In addition to cutting the long supply chain between producers and consumers, cooperatives will also play an important role in distributing various community needs, such as fertilizers, gas cylinders, and other government assistance," said Seskab.
In order to ensure the implementation of the program is effective and integrated, the government has also formed a Red and White Cooperative Task Force.
"As a step to strengthen implementation in the field, the government has also formed a Red and White Cooperative Task Force (Satgas) chaired by the Coordinating Minister for Food, with representatives from ministerial elements and daily implementers," said Seskab.

He explained that the Kopdes Merah Putih program was divided into three stages, namely the formation, development and operation, as well as monitoring and evaluation.
