Menkum Hope Decision Of Tannos Extradition Trial Out On June 25

JAKARTA - Minister of Law (Menkum) Supratman Andi Agtas hopes that the decision on the extradition trial for fugitives in the corruption case of the electronic identity card procurement project (KTP-e) Paulus Tannos alias Thian Po Tjhin can be issued on Wednesday (25/6).

The preliminary hearing at the first instance court aka a commitmental hearing of Tannos extradition was held on 23-25 June 2025 at the Singapore District Court.

"Hopefully on the 25th it is considered enough examination, the healing is enough, there will be a decision immediately, yes, we are grateful," said Supratman as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 23.

He explained that during the trial, the examination of the Tannos extradition request was carried out twice.

During the trial, the Indonesian government was represented by the Attorney General's Office or the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) of Singapore as the central authority. Even so, the Indonesian government continues to monitor the trial.

However, if later on Wednesday (25/6) there is already a decision from the Singapore District Court on the application for Tannos extradition, the Minister of Law and Human Rights said the decision was not final.

The reason, he said, was that when the decision had been issued, it would be asked first whether Tannos and AGC accepted the decision or not.

Otherwise, Tannos and Singaporean authorities, representing the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, have the right to file the next legal action, namely an appeal at the final level.

"So we'll just have to wait, who knows Tannos voluntarily accepts the verdict and there is no legal action," he said.

Paulus Tannos is a fugitive in the corruption case of the electronic identity card procurement project (KTP-e) handled by the Indonesian KPK and is on the wanted list since October 19, 2021.

On January 17, 2025, Tannos was arrested by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB), which has competence and authority in handling corruption in Singapore.

On February 22, 2025, the Indonesian government submitted a request for Tannos extradition to Singapore. This extradition is the first case after the Indonesian government signed an agreement with the Singapore government.
