JAKARTA - Bhayangkara Hospital sent a comparison sample of Deoxyribonucleic Acid or DNA of victims of suspected mutilation cases in Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) to the Police Headquarters Laboratory.
"We have sent a comparison sample to the Laboratory of the National Police Headquarters based on the direct order of the West Sumatra Police Chief," said Head of Bhayangkara Hospital, West Sumatra Police Commissioner Dr Harry Andromeda in Padang, Monday, June 23, confiscated by Antara.
Doctor Harry said the samples sent came from pieces of the corpse's body and two samples from the skeleton of the bone found some time ago. The hospital also took swabs from each person suspected of being the victim's parents.
"So currently Bhayangkara Hospital is still waiting for the results of the examination of DNA samples of victims of alleged mutilation from the Police Headquarters Laboratory," he said.
He said, after the comparison sample was sent, the results were likely to come out in the next five to seven days because it needed a bone drying process and so on.
He explained that the delivery of comparative samples was aimed at ascertaining whether body parts, including bones found in a number of places, were in accordance with the identities of the three victims of the alleged mutilation case.
"So, is it true that the pieces of the body are in accordance with the victims who were mutilated because they are separated," he said.
