Residents Complain That PMT Posyandu's Food Has Been Based

JAKARTA - Member of Commission E of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Solikhah, revealed complaints from the public regarding the quality of the provision of additional food (PMT) at the integrated service post (posyandu) that is not feasible, even stale.

"It's in the Pegadungan area. Not poisoned yet, but those who are given food to Posyandu because they take many third parties are stale," said Solikhah to reporters, Thursday, June 19.

Solikhah also asked the DKI Provincial Government to no longer need to involve third parties in providing food for children and pregnant women during posyandu activities.

Solikhah is worried that the raw materials used for PMT will not be fresh. In fact, the food will be given to toddlers aged six to 59 months who are indicated to be malnourished or at risk of experiencing nutritional problems.

"Maybe because they bought it for two weeks or a month or maybe one year ago the raw materials. Now this must be considered, it needs to be crossed checked," said Solikhah.

On the one hand, Solikhah asked the DKI Jakarta Health Office to talk to the legislature if it needed a budget to manage PMT independently, so that the food received by Jakarta children was of good quality.

Given, posyandu is a government program in maintaining the basic nutritional health of infants, toddlers, and pregnant and lactating mothers.

"That must be increased, the budget must be increased. Moreover, we want to go to a global city, it must start from the smallest, because the health of our generation of children starts from Posyandu," he explained.
