President Prabowo Directly Invited Putin To Russia

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to make a state visit to Russia on June 19 20, 2025, as part of Indonesia's diplomatic agenda to strengthen strategic cooperation with major partner countries. This visit was made at a direct invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained that the visit to Russia was a continuation of President Prabowo's overseas visit, which previously visited Singapore to attend the Singapore-Indonesia Leaders' Retreat and met with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on June 16, 2025.

However, the main focus of this trip is a visit to Moscow, where President Prabowo will be officially accepted at a state ceremony and hold a bilateral meeting with President Putin on June 19.

"In Russia, President Prabowo, who was invited directly by President Putin, will be officially accepted at the state ceremony and will hold a bilateral meeting," Teddy said in his statement, Sunday, June 15.

In addition to the bilateral agenda, President Prabowo is also scheduled to be the mainnote speaker at the 2025 St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) international forum on June 20.

This forum is a prestigious global economic event that brings together leaders of countries, business people, and economists from various parts of the world.

Teddy emphasized that visits to Russia have a strategic meaning for Indonesia, especially in strengthening the comprehensive partnership of the two countries in the midst of increasingly complex geopolitical dynamics.

"This state visit is very strategic to strengthen cooperation and a comprehensive partnership between Indonesia and Russia. It also reflects Indonesia's position which is increasingly being taken into account at the global level," he said.
