Billboard Lights Thief In Tanjung Duren, West Jakarta Arrested

JAKARTA - The man with the initials SS (37) could only bow still in the detention cell of the Grogol Petamburan Police, West Jakarta. SS was arrested for being caught stealing billboards on Jalan Arjuna Utara, Tanjung Duren Selatan, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, Wednesday, June 11.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Aprino Tamara said the perpetrator was known to have stolen a number of billboard lights using equipment such as bolts and cutting pliers.

"We have secured the perpetrator along with evidence in the form of a 100 watt Primax brand lamp, one 100 watt Hinolux lamp, and three 100 watt Magi lamp. The total loss is estimated at IDR 4,377,550," said AKP Aprino when confirmed.

The arrest of the perpetrator began when one of the technicians from the billboard management, Rahmat, checked and found that the billboard lights had been stolen by an unknown person.

This finding was immediately reported to the management, which was then forwarded to the Grogol Petamburan Police.

The Buser team, which moved quickly to the scene, found the perpetrator still on board the billboard. After being asked to come down and be interrogated on the spot, the perpetrator admitted his actions.

"The perpetrator admitted to acting alone. We secured him for further investigation at the Grogol Petamburan Police," he said.

From the results of the examination, the perpetrator has been named a suspect. The perpetrators will be processed according to the applicable law. SS was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft with weight.
