10 Students Become Victims Of Obscene Teachers In Garut, KPAI Asks Residents To Report To Prevent Pedophilia Cases

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) stated that the public must have the courage to report the case of Koran teachers committing immoral acts against 10 students in Cikajang District, Garut Regency, West Java.

Chairman of the KPAI Forum for West Java Province, Ato Rinanto, said this could anticipate the emergence of perpetrators in the future.

"Parents must dare to report, when parents dare to 'speak up', they are actually saving their children from the dangers of pedophilia," he said when contacted, Monday, quoted from Antara.

He said the West Java KPAI and the Garut Police were working together to resolve immoral cases, the alleged perpetrators were Koran teachers with 10 children.

The victim's data, he said, was a confession from the perpetrator and a report, but his party continued to work on developing the case because he was worried that there were other victims.

"We are still working with the Garut Police to open a post, perhaps there are people whose students interact with the alleged perpetrators not to hesitate to report," he said.

He hopes that the data revealed by the 10 children is the last, and that there are no more children who are victims of the actions of pedophilia actors in the area.

Even so, KPAI continues to search for it and requires community cooperation, especially parents not to make it a disgrace but this must be reported and the victim is being treated so as not to give birth to other pedophiles again.

"Hopefully it ends up in 10 victims, but if there are things that may be left behind because these parents think they are disgrace, they don't want to report, this is dangerous," he said.

He conveyed that the search for victims was so that all those who became immoral victims by Koran teachers could undergo the trauma recovery process.

The recovery, he said, would be ensured to completion, and the children would recover from the incident that happened to him, if he did not undergo trauma recovery, it is likely that in the future he will become a perpetrator.

"We are taking strategic steps to complete the recovery, so that in the future we can ensure that the victim recovers from the trauma she has been experiencing," he said.

He conveyed that he is currently forming a professional team to carry out the trauma recovery process for victims so that the future of children can be saved.

"This is proof that if the trauma is not carried out in its entirety, it will be a perpetrator in the future, and this is proven to be experienced by the alleged perpetrator," he said.

Garut Police have now named the suspect with the initials IY (53) in the case of immoral acts against 10 boy boys committed at the perpetrator's house in Cikajang District, Garut since 2023.

Currently, the suspect has been detained for further legal proceedings and charged with Article 82 Paragraphs 1 and 4 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection with a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
