Director of the Department of Investigation and Traffic Law Enforcement of Bukit Aman Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said a comprehensive investigation would be carried out in collaboration with the Malaysian Road Safety Research Institute, Road Transportation Department, Land Public Transportation Agency, and other related institutions.
"We aim to complete the report as soon as possible so that bus drivers can be charged in court," he told reporters at the Gerik Hospital emergency unit on Monday, June 9, quoted by Bernama.
"We are investigating all points of view, including the traffic history of bus drivers, personal backgrounds, past activities, and work records," he continued.
Separately, Perak Police Chief Hisam Nordin said this tragic accident left 15 UPSI students dead. This incident precisely took place at KM53 Jalan Raya Timur-West (JRTB) Gerik, Perak, Malaysia on Monday, June 9 in the morning.
The bus brought 42 students, consisting of eight men and 34 women, aged between 21 and 23, all of whom came from the East Coast of Malaysia.
