JAKARTA - Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said Ukraine's attack on several Russian air bases on Sunday showed Kyiv managed to defend themselves.
"I think they (Ukraine) have the right to defend themselves and sometimes that includes fighting so it seems successful," Frederiksen said.
Ukraine's domestic intelligence agency, SBU, admitted it carried out an attack under the codename "Spider Net Operation" which was planned for more than a year and a half.
In a meeting of leaders of Nordik, Baltic and Eastern Europe in the Lithuanian capital, Frederiksen also said it was very important to focus on European weaponry.
"Russia is a threat to all of us and therefore we need to strengthen our Eastern wing. We must continue to push for a ceasefire but at the same time we must do what is needed on the battlefield in Ukraine so that they can truly win this war," he said.
