Central Jakarta Metro Police arrested a man with the initials F (35), suspected of pouring hard water on his ex-wife Siri, S (23) and close friends so that the two victims suffered serious injuries to several parts of the body.

"We have arrested the perpetrator, not long after the incident," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, May 31.

According to him, the incident occurred on Jalan Garuda, Gunung Sahari Selatan, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

"This is a very serious criminal act because the perpetrator deliberately brought hard water to injure the victim. We will process this case according to the applicable law," he said.

At the time of the incident, the suspect poured hard water at the victim while on Jalan Garuda and victim S suffered injuries to his left arm, left thigh and mouth, while a close friend of the victim S, FDL suffered injuries to his left arm, left body and left waist.

The police confiscated evidence in the form of two post-mortem results and one green glass used by the perpetrators.

Currently, the perpetrator is being held at the Kemayoran Police for further investigation.

The Head of the Kemayoran Police, Kompol Agung Adriansyah, explained that the perpetrator was desperate to carry out his actions because he was hurt by his ex-wife who was suspected of being close to another man.

"The perpetrator admitted that he was hurt because he had been separated for eight months," he said.

In addition, the perpetrator received information that victim S was close to FDL. From there, the perpetrator took hard water at his house, then poured it on the victim.

This case is still under intensive investigation. The perpetrator was charged with Article 351 of the Criminal Code concerning severe persecution, with a maximum imprisonment of five years.
