BOGOR Mayor of Bogor, Dedie A Rachim, emphasized that the Bogor City Government together with security forces continue to monitor the implementation of a curfew for teenagers as a follow-up to the Circular Letter of the Governor of West Java Number 100.3.4/KEP.344-SATPOLPP, which was issued in early May 2025.
The circular contains an appeal to regional heads throughout West Java to implement a policy of limiting outdoor activities for children and adolescents at night, in order to reduce juvenile delinquency, brawls, and drug abuse.
"The governor has conveyed many steps through social media. So, the message has arrived. We just have to monitor the field," said Dedie after a coordination meeting with the Bogor City Police Chief, Dandim 0606, and the relevant ranks were confirmed, Wednesday, May 28.
So far, Dedie appreciates the synergy between the Bogor City Police and the Raimas (Mass Breaker) team, which is considered effective in suppressing the potential for crime in Bogor City.
"The Raimas program with the Chief of Police is good. Its presence is able to reduce the potential for crime around the city of Bogor. There are many potential crimes that in the end do not occur due to patrols. So, the ideal steps that we have hoped have been carried out by the Police. It remains to be maintained," he added.
Military Barak
Regarding the handling of children who are considered difficult for parents to educate, Dedie submitted a suggestion from Dandim 0606 to take advantage of the barracks facilities as an alternative to character education.
"Mr. Dandim even suggested that the City Government open opportunities for parents who feel they are no longer able to educate their children. Later we will open a kind of registration," explained Dedie.
According to him, the mechanism is being prepared by the City Government together with the Education Office. One of the options prepared is the use of barracks facilities that can accommodate up to 315 children. This step is expected to be a comprehensive solution in dealing with juvenile delinquency and strengthening the synergy between parents, the government, and security forces.
Previously, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi assessed that the circular letter from the Governor of West Java was the right step in responding to the increasing number of juvenile delinquency cases in various regions.
The curfew is important, not to curb, but rather a form of our responsibility as parents and leaders of the younger generation. At night, the potential for children to be exposed to negative things is much greater," said Dedi in an upload on his personal social media.

He also emphasized the importance of collaboration between local governments, security forces, and the community in supervising and fostering children in their respective environments.
"This policy must be carried out humanely and educatively. Not solely to punish, but to save their future," concluded Dedi.
