Bribery Of Three Surabaya District Court Hakin, Lawyer Ronald Tannur Sued 14 Years In Prison

JAKARTA - Attorney from Gregorius Ronald Tannur, Lisa Rachmat, was found guilty of having bad consensus and bribing the Surabaya District Court Judge with the intention that his client was free from the death penalty. The Public Prosecutor (JPU) decided to sentence him to 14 years in prison.

"(Demanding) Sentenced the Defendant Lisa Rachmat therefore with a prison sentence of 14 years reduced completely by the length of time the defendant was detained," said the prosecutor reading out the charges at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Wednesday, May 28.

In their demands, the prosecutor also imposed a fine on Lisa Rachmat worth Rp. 750 million. If it is not paid, it will be replaced to imprisonment for 6 months.

The claim was dropped because the prosecutor assessed that Lisa Rachmat's actions had fulfilled the elements of Article 6 Paragraph 1 letter a or Article 5 Paragraph 1 letter a in conjunction with Article 18 and Article 15 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.

Lisa Rachmat, who is from Ronald Tannur, is known to have bribed three judges at the Surabaya District Court who handled his client's case.

The bribe money was obtained from Ronald Tannur's mother, Meirizka Widjaja. The value is around Rp. 1 billion and 308 thousand Singapore dollars.

The handover of money to the three judges was carried out in stages. The three judges are Erintuah Damanik, Mangapul, and Heru Hanindyo.

Dalam pertemuan pertama, Lisa memberikan uang sebesar 140 ribu dolar Singapura di Bandara Jenderal Ahmad Yani Semarang pada awal Juni 2024.

Then, 48 thousand Singapore dollars at Ahmad Yani Airport Semarang at the end of June 2024 and Rp1 billion and 120 thousand Singapore dollars at the Surabaya District Court in July 2024.

Then, Lisa Rachmat also gave bribes to Zarof Ricar at the cassation level. Lisa gave Rp5 billion so that Zarof could strengthen the Surabaya District Court's acquittal for Ronald Tannur.
