JAKARTA - Residents urge the East Jakarta City Government (East Jakarta City Government) to bring order to Persons with Social Welfare Problems (PMKS) or beggars who carry children, around Klender Baru Station, East Jakarta.

"The East Jakarta City Government must put order, especially if it is true that the child who is brought to be given sleeping medicine must be checked. Let it be, do not proliferate wrong actions like this," said a resident from Duren Sawit, Syahrul Pratama (27) in East Jakarta, Monday, May 26.

Syahrul admitted, several times several times the mother carried her sleeping child, sitting on the side of the stairs of Klender Baru Station while begging.

According to Syahrul, this kind of thing must be checked by related parties, especially the East Jakarta City Government, including knee beggars who carry children and often roam at night.

Moreover, this incident can endanger children if they are given sleeping pills.

"Browing medicine is dangerous if it is used not according to its function. In addition, it should not bring children while begging. The pain is used," he said.

The same thing was said by a resident of Pondok Kopi, Salma Aulia (24) regarding the presence of the beggar dressed as a musician.

"Several times when I came home from work, I definitely got off at Klender Baru Station, like to see mothers carrying children, sitting on stairs. But the child, I saw always sleeping," said Salma.

Salma admitted that she was worried about the condition of the child because of the many allegations that the babies who were given sleeping pills were then invited to beg by their parents.

"Now I see a lot of beggars bringing their children who are still babies, toddlers, begging for money so people can see it, even though the child is more sorry because he is suspected of being given sleeping medicine," said Salma.

In fact, article 40 of DKI Jakarta Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 8 of 2007 concerning Public Order (Tibum), strictly prohibits: to become beggars, buskers, hawkers and car racers.

For those who order other people to become beggars or buskers, the sanctions are heavier, namely imprisonment of up to 90 days or a fine of up to Rp. 30,000,000.
