TARAKAN Acting (Pj) Provincial Secretary (Sekprov) of North Kalimantan (Kaltara), Bustan, representing the Governor of Kaltara Zainal A Paliwang, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the participants of the Domestic Work Lecture (KKDN) Student Officer (Pasis) of the Indonesian National Army's School of Staff and Command (Sesko) 2025 53rd Force.

Bustan said Kaltara was a province that was still relatively young in Indonesia which was inaugurated in 2012, and is now transforming into a strong and strategic border province.

"This is an honor and pride for us, as well as a strategic momentum to introduce the potential and challenges of our border area to future TNI leaders," said Bustan in his remarks at the XIII Tarakan Main Base Command Headquarters (Lantamal), Friday (23/5/2025).

He explained that Kaltara provinces with an area of more than 75 thousand km2, and are directly adjacent to the states of Sabah and Sarawak.

"This border condition brings two sides, one side becomes a challenge in terms of remoteness, cross-border security and infrastructure limitations," he explained.

"However, on the other hand, Kaltara has become a national strategic potential, both in terms of geopolitical, geostrategic and geoeconomic terms," he added.

The provincial government of Kaltara continues to develop border areas so as not to be left behind, but instead become a high competitive front homepage.

"One of the concrete manifestations of this effort is the development of the Indonesian Green Industrial Estate (KIHI) in Tanah Kuning Mangkupadi, Bulungan Regency," he said.

He believes and believes that development that is integrated with a defense and security approach is an important foundation to bring fair and equitable prosperity, especially in border areas.

"Hopefully this KKDN Sesko TNI activity will provide strategic benefits for all of us, not only realizing a professional and resilient TNI and an advanced and sovereign Indonesia, but also supporting the province of North Kalimantan to continue to grow and develop, and be more advanced, prosperous and sustainable," he concluded.
