A 14-year-old Teenager Dies After Falling From The Lotte Avenue Building, South Jakarta

JAKARTA - A teenage boy with the initials AR (14) is thought to have died after falling from the top floor of Lotte Avenue Building, Mega Kuningan area, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on Thursday night, May 22, 2025.

Setiabudi police chief, Kompol Firman, revealed that the temporary suspicion of the victim fell from a height. However, the police are still investigating the motive behind this tragic incident.

"We are still investigating the background of this incident. The family can only be questioned last night," said Firman when confirmed on Friday, May 23.

According to police information, the victim was rushed to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) in critical condition. Unfortunately, his life could not be saved and the victim was declared dead. AR's body has been taken to the funeral home and is planned to be buried today.

Firman emphasized that his party could not determine the exact cause of death, because the post-mortem results from the medical team were still in process.

To support the investigation process, the police have conducted a crime scene (TKP), examined CCTV footage, and asked for information from four witnesses at the scene.

"We continue to gather information, including analyzing CCTV footage, to find out clearly whether this incident was purely an accident or there was another element. Everything is still under investigation," added Firman.
