BOGOR Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab) ensures that the budget for the construction of infrastructure supporting the New Autonomous Region Candidate (CDOB) of West Bogor Regency will begin to be prepared in 2026.

This was conveyed by the Regent of Bogor, Iwan Setiawan Rudy, after having a dialogue with the West Bogor Community Alliance for Expansion (AMUK) at the Regent's Hall, Cibinong, Thursday, May 22.

During the meeting, he emphasized that the government had designated Cigudeg District as a candidate for the capital city of West Bogor Regency.

"It has been decided, the center of government is in Cigudeg. The documents and files are already there. Do not let wild opinions appear that cannot be controlled," said Rudy, quoted from ANTARA.

Rudy explained that development will start from the center of government, including public service offices needed by the community. This step, he said, became a form of the seriousness of Bogor Regency as the main area in supporting the expansion process.

"It's just a matter of agreeing on the location point, the area of the land, and we will process the legality. The target is to finish by the end of this year," he said.

After the legality process is complete, the Bogor Regency Government will allocate an infrastructure development budget in the 2026 APBD. Development will start from the top priority such as the regent's office, even on an adjusted scale.

"Later, we will discuss the development priorities, for example, the regent's office on a small scale first. After the point is determined, how much is the area, road networks must also be prepared," he said.

In addition to physical infrastructure, Rudy emphasized the importance of the readiness of basic administrative services such as ID cards and family cards (KK). According to him, not all sub-districts currently have population identity printing facilities.

He also mentioned that the moratorium on the formation of a new autonomous region still applies. However, if the discourse on the revocation of the moratorium is partially realized, then CDOB must be ready from all aspects.

"Even if the moratorium is still there, the offices that will be built can be temporarily used by the presidium of expansion. At least there are activity centers that are ready for use," added Rudy.

He said that the existence of the office could also be the forerunner of the growth of a new economic center in the West Bogor area.

Meanwhile, the AMUK Coordinator, Ujang Buchori Muslim, expressed the aspirations of the community at the meeting. They highlight the importance of accelerating development in the West Bogor area, especially in the fields of education, health, infrastructure, worship facilities, and tourism.

"We want to know the extent of the Bogor Regency Government's readiness to support the expansion of West Bogor, which has become a discourse for almost 30 years," said Ujang.

He emphasized that AMUK did not demand expansion to be carried out immediately because it was under the authority of the central government. However, they encourage the Bogor Regency Government to be more serious in preparing concrete steps in the regional expansion process.
