JAKARTA - Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) Anwar Ibrahim said the situation in Gaza, Palestine to investment initiatives and regional economic strengthening would be the main focus of the retreat of countries in the 46th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Anwar Ibrahim also highlighted the importance of the ASEAN Electric Network project, which describes it as a key initiative to enhance regional energy cooperation.
"Malaysia, as chairman of ASEAN this year, is committed to advancing ASEAN as a regional force with principles with a clear and sustainable economic vision," Anwar said in a post on his Facebook.
Anwar said this during a meeting session with editors-in-chief local and international media on Wednesday, May 21 evening.
Anwar also commented on the rates imposed by the United States. He said that Malaysia remains focused on implementing domestic economic reforms and expanding cooperation with partners such as China, India, and Pakistan, while strengthening relations with the European Union (EU) at the 46th ASEAN Summit on May 26-27 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLC).
"Malaysia remains committed to becoming an open trading country, maintaining ties with traditional partners such as China and the United States, as well as exploring new markets, including establishing trade relations with Russia," said Anwar.
