Vocational High School Students In Batang Brawl Injure Their Victims Using Sickles Affected By Heavy Persecution Articles

JAKARTA - The Batang Resort Police (Polres) in Central Java (Central Java) revealed three cases of brawls between groups of students which resulted in one of the perpetrators being injured by a sharp weapon.

Deputy Chief of Batang Resort Police, Kompol Hartono, said that his party for 10 days of the implementation of Operation Safe Candi 2025 succeeded in uncovering a number of criminal cases such as thuggery, theft, persecution, and brawls between groups.

"The prominent case is a brawl between groups of students which resulted in the victim being seriously injured," he said in Batang, Thursday, May 22, which was confiscated by Antara.

Kompol Hartono said the case of brawls between groups occurred in three different locations and times, namely in Reban and Gringsing Districts and Subah District.

The brawl case that occurred in Reban District resulted in the victim with the initials MR (13), a junior high school student, experiencing lacerations to his chin and left arm due to the slash of the perpetrator's sickle with the initials MC (17) who is a vocational school student from Limpung District.

The case began with a challenge agreed through WhatsApp messages to meet at the location.

After meeting, both parties immediately attacked each other so that the victim with the initials MR (13) suffered injuries due to the knife carried by the perpetrator with the initials MC. MR victim was rushed to the Reban Health Center before being referred to Limpung Hospital.

For his actions, the MC perpetrators will be subject to Article 2 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 concerning Sharp Weapon Ownership and Article 351 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code concerning severe persecution with a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.

For the case that occurred in Gringsing District, the Batang Police arrested a vocational school student who was carrying a sharp weapon during a graduation convoy.

The perpetrator with the initials MS who is also a class XII SMK student in Kendal was arrested by the police on Jalan Raya Plelen, Plelen Village, Gringsing District, Monday (12/5).

The convoy group consisted of students from various Kendal District schools. At first they gathered in Ringinarum before moving to the west.

The convoy was intercepted by the Gringsing Police so that a group of students broke away.

However, the police managed to secure the perpetrator MS who was carrying a sharp weapon of the type of corbek as evidence. MS is now facing a sentence of 10 years in prison for being charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951.

For the third case, he said, it was a case of a brawl between the "Remaja Team Galau" groups that occurred on the Pantura Street of Keborangan Village, Suburah District.

In the brawl, the police arrested two students with children in conflict with the law (ABH) with the initials MR (14) and EAP (16) who were members of the "Remaja Team Galau" group.

The Deputy Chief of the Batang Police appealed to parents to supervise their children's association when they were outside the house so as not to fall into criminal acts.

"Prevention is better than taking action. We also invite people to play an active role in protecting their respective environments," said Kompol Hartono.
