SOUTH TANGERANG The Operational Team of the Jatanras Sub-Directorate of the Polda Metro Jaya arrested 30 members of community organizations (ormas) suspected of being involved in a riot in front of the South Tangerang City General Hospital (RSU), Pamulang, on Wednesday night, May 21.

"It's true, 30 people have been arrested from mass organizations," said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ade Ary, when confirmed on Thursday, May 22.

He added that all members of the mass organization had been taken to Polda Metro Jaya to undergo further investigation regarding the riot incident.

"Currently being investigated at the Jatanras Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya," he continued.

Meanwhile, one of the local residents named Sofyan said that the dozens of members of the mass organization came from the Pemuda Pancasila (PP) group in South Tangerang.

He admitted that he saw firsthand the arrest process carried out by the police on Wednesday night.

"Last night I saw PP members being transported to a police truck," said Sofyan in the early hours of Thursday.

Regarding the chronology of the incident, Sofyan explained that the incident began with pushing each other at the entrance to the Pamulang General Hospital area between the group of mass organizations managing the parking lot and PT Kejati Cyberindo Indonesia, who was the winner of the auction for parking management at that location.

The riot occurred when the company was about to build an automatic parking gate system (parking gate) in a location that had been occupied by tents belonging to mass organizations.

The quarrel between the two parties attracted the attention of local residents. Shortly thereafter, the police arrived at the location to secure the situation. A number of members from the long-barreled Polda Metro Jaya were deployed and immediately secured the members of the mass organizations involved.
