Urges Roy Suryo's Arrest, AMMI Holds Action At Police Headquarters

JAKARTA Dozens of youths who are members of the Maluku Indonesia Millennial Aspiration (AMMI) held a demonstration in front of the National Police Headquarters, Thursday, May 15, 2025. They urged Bareskrim Polri to immediately arrest Roy Suryo and Rismon Sianipar.

According to AMMI Coordinator, Fauzan Ohorella, the action was a form of unrest against the alleged spread of hoaxes and hate speech that attacked the good name of President Joko Widodo.

"Our goal here is to ask the Criminal Investigation Unit to immediately arrest Roy Suryo and Rismon, who we suspect have attacked the good name of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Joko Widodo, by spreading false news and hate speech to the public," Fauzan said in his oration.

Fauzan added that the allegation that Jokowi's undergraduate degree from Gadjah Mada University was fake, had been denied by various parties in UGM. According to him, clarification has been conveyed by the campus, including the former dean, senior force, to Jokowi's teammates.

"We suspect that there is another agenda that Roy Suryo and Rismon want to play, whose goal is to divide society," said Fauzan.

Another orator, Agnes Huninhatu, said that during the Jokowi administration era, attention to development in Eastern Indonesia increased significantly. This is the main reason they took action.

"In our opinion, President Jokowi has given a lot of attention to Eastern Indonesia, such as Papua, Maluku, to NTT. Therefore, we feel the need to support him," said Agnes.

AMMI also asked all television stations to boycott Roy Suryo and Rismon Sianipar. The statement was made by another orator, Rovly Rengirit.

We ask that all TV stations no longer provide space to Roy Suryo and Rismon. They are not experts, but those who spread hoaxes and hate speech that divide the nation," said Rovly.

In closing, Fauzan said that AMMI would again hold an action in the near future in front of the Polda Metro Jaya Headquarters. They urged serious handling of the alleged fake diploma case of President Jokowi.

"In the near future we will take action at the Metro Police. This case has attracted public attention and must be followed up firmly. We ask Roy Suryo and Rismon to be immediately named as suspects," Fauzan concluded.
