Pekanbaru Satpol PP Seals Travel Office After Wamenak's Sidak

The Pekanbaru City Civil Service Police Unit, Riau, sealed the office of the Sanel Tour and Travel company after a surprise inspection was carried out by the Deputy Minister of Manpower, Immanuel Ebenezer, at that place.

Head of the Pekanbaru Satpol PP, Zulfahmi Adrian, said that the sealing was carried out because the company's leadership was not cooperative during the two inspections carried out by the Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) and Riau Governor Abdul Wahid, following the case of the detention of 47 former employees.

"The central government, the provincial government has come here to solve the problems that have occurred. However, to this day the problem has not been resolved because Sanel is not cooperative with the government," said Zulfahmi as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 14.

In addition to sealing the office, Satpol PP also asked Sanel employees to immediately leave the office and temporarily stop office activities.

This was done until the leadership of Sanel submitted official documents related to his activities in Pekanbaru City.

"After the documents and requirements are met and the problems that occur are resolved thoroughly, they will be verified and followed up whether they will be permanent or will be reopened later," he said.

Previously, Wamenaker Immanuel Ebenezer together with Riau Governor Abdul Wahid, the leadership of the Riau DPRD, Riau Police, and a number of officials from the Riau Province Manpower Office and Pekanbaru City demanded the promise of returning the diploma submitted by the SanelTourandTravel leadership after the first inspection on April 24, 2025.

However, when the promise was billed through the second inspection of Wamenaker with Riau Governor Abdul Wahid, the company's leadership was not willing to meet. The Deputy Minister of Manpower and the governor considered the company uncooperative, even though they had promised to return the diploma and apologize.

"Earlier, the Deputy Chairman of the DPRD, Santi (the owner of the company) was here to apologize and return the certificate that was detained. That is our hope, it turns out that for more than an hour he is not present and he wants to go to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia," said Wamenaker.
