142 Thugs Disrupting Investment In The Kahatex Rancaek Industrial Estate Rolled Up By The Bandung Police

Bandung City Police (Polresta) arrested 142 people in an operation to control thuggery held in the Kahatex Rancaek industrial area, Bandung Regency, West Java.

Bandung Police Chief Kombes Pol Aldi Subartono said the operation was carried out as part of an enhanced routine activity following public reports regarding the rampant acts of thuggery.

"We are here after receiving information in the Kahatex area at certain times if the salary is paid, there are many perpetrators of thuggery and bullying. That's why we are here with related elements to make sure everything is safe," said Aldi, ANTRA, Sunday, May 11.

Aldi said that security in industrial areas is a top priority because this sector makes many positive contributions, such as improving the economy, absorbing labor, and attracting investment.

"We know that this is an industrial area, we are here to provide a sense of security to industry players, business actors, and employees who come home at night from acts of thuggery," he said.

According to him, in addition to patrols in industrial areas, similar activities are also carried out at a number of other vulnerable points. Preventive and preemptive steps are taken to avoid repressive actions by the security forces.

"We have analyzed based on the information we received, those who are vulnerable during the salary weeks. We will add more personnel at that time, to anticipate bullying from thuggery," he said.

He said that out of a total of 142 people who were arrested, some had been named as suspects, while the rest were still in the process of being investigated.

"We will take measured decisive action against anyone who tries to thuggery industry players and employees. Our thuggery perpetrators will not give the slightest space," he said.
