West Kalimantan Police Reveals 232 Cases Related To Thugs, One Of Them Is Ownership Of Assembled Guns.

Polda Kalimantan Barat (Kalbar) revealed 232 criminal cases related to thuggery. Of the hundreds of cases, one of them is illegal possession of firearms (senpi).

"One of the prominent cases is the arrest of a suspect with the initials BA in Pontianak who was found to have a homemade revolver without permission," said Director of General Crimes at the West Kalimantan Police, Kombes Pol. Bowo Gede Imantio in his statement Saturday, May 10.

Of the hundreds of cases, 25 of them were involved in gambling with 46 suspects. Then, 39 cases of prostitution with 75 suspects; 43 cases of thuggery with 47 suspects; 63 cases of illegal liquor circulation with 62 suspects; and 56 narcotics cases with 63 suspects.

In addition, the police also secured various pieces of evidence, including: IDR 33.72 million in cash, 17 mobile phones, 4 units of homemade firearms along with 5 bullets, 2.5 kilograms of methamphetamine, 857 bottles of illegal liquor and 269 liters of alcohol in various packages, as well as various other evidences such as motorcycles, clothes, and narcotics suction devices.

In addition, the Head of Public Relations of the West Kalimantan Police explained that Kombes Bayu Suseno said that the action taken was part of an enhanced routine activity (KRYD) in order to support the implementation of Operation Against Thugs 2025, especially in the jurisdiction of the West Kalimantan Police.

The police ranks from May 14 to 25, 2025, will hold Operation Pekat Kapuas II 2025 simultaneously. With the targets, among them, acts of thuggery such as extortion, illegal levies, intimidation, violence and others, as well as sharp weapons and alcohol, "said Bayu.

On the other hand, the West Kalimantan Police invites the public to actively participate in maintaining environmental security by reporting suspicious activities to the authorities.
