Land Mbah Tupon Case, Bantul Regency Government Guard Until Court

BANTUL - Bantul Regency Government (Pemkab) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) ensures that the legal process for resolving land cases experienced by Tupon Hadi Suwarno's family (Mbah Tupon) reaches the prosecutor's level.

"The process of Mbah Tupon's case has arrived at the prosecutor's office today, so from the regional police, then to the Attorney General's Office (the High Prosecutor's Office), and soon to the court," said Bantul Regent Abdul Halim Muslih after visiting the Mbah Tupon family residence in Ngentak, Bangunjiwo, Bantul, Friday, May 9, confiscated by Antara.

The Bantul Regency Government has provided legal assistance to Mbah Tupon's family by forming an advocacy team to oversee this case so that the rights of Mbah Tupon's family whose land certificate has changed names can return immediately.

"In this sufficient time-consuming process, we just stay in touch, ensure the health of Mbah Tupon and her family. Alhamdulillah, it's fine so that the legal process that will eventually present Mbah Tupon, Mbah Tupon and her family are ready," he said.

During the visit, apart from providing moral support, the Regent of Bantul also paid another attention in the form of material assistance. The district government is committed to continuing to oversee this case until the rights of Mbah Tupon and his family return to normal.

"And thank God Mbah Tupon and his family are fine and the Forkopimda (regional leadership coordination forum) will continue to oversee this until the rights of Mbah Tupon return to normal," he said.

Bantul Regent said the legal team that provided assistance to Mbah Tupon's family and also the family of Bryan Manov Qrisna Huri, who was also a victim of the land mafia, ensured that the legal process would soon reach court.

"Certainly and this is already at the prosecutor's office and will soon be transferred to the court. Other cases have also been reported to the regional police so that the case related to the land mafia, God willing, will be resolved one by one so that Bantul will be released from the land mafia," he said.

Mbah Tupon, a resident of Ngentak, Bangunjiwo, Bantul Regency, became a victim of embezzlement of land certificates after his 1,655 square meter land certificate changed its name to someone else, then used as credit collateral amounting to Rp1.5 billion in a financial institution.

Meanwhile, Bryan, a resident of Tatantirto, Bantul, also uncovered the same fraud case. The case began around August 2023 when Bryan's mother, Endang Kusumawati (67), had an acquaintance named Triono and asked for help in breaking the land certificate.

However, the 2,275 meter land certificate belonging to the Bryan family suddenly changed its name to Muhammad Achmadi and became a credit collateral at a banking institution in Sleman Regency.

The two victims of the land case fraud are currently waiting for the return of their rights and justice for land certificates which they think have been misused by the party they believe in. The case of land has been reported by the family to the Yogyakarta Regional Police.
