The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Center (TNBTS) confirmed that the process of purchasing entrance tickets for the Mount Bromo area has fully used an online ordering system since October 1, 2019.

Head of the TNBTS Center, Rudijanta Tjahja Nugraha, said that the online ticket booking system has also been routinely carried out to residents, tourism service actors, business licensing for entrepreneurs of natural environmental services (PBPSWA), to related agencies.

"We BB TNBTS have implemented online booking since October 1, 2019 so that every individual visitor or using tourist services must buy tickets by online," said Rudi as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 6.

Rudi's statement at the same time responded to the protests made by tour whistle drivers at the counter at the entrance to Mount Bromo, in Cemolawang, Probolinggo Regency, East Java, Sunday (4/5).

The incident, said Rudi, had an impact on the emergence of traffic jams on the route, because many visitors still had not purchased tickets according to procedures.

In fact, he continued, ticket purchases are usually made through tour operators or password operators.

"Then on April 28, 2025, we have socialized and discussed with the operator tour at the Cemorolawang Center. One of the agreements was that the online QR Codebooking was held by each driver," he said.

Regarding the chronology of the incident, Rudi stated that at around 06.30 WIB there were 144 laptops from several tour operators who would enter the checkpoint.

Then, of that number, there are 92 drivers who have not ordered tickets online.

"Officers asked 92 vehicles to book tickets on the spot, this condition caused traffic jams at the ticket guard door," he said.

Congestion is exacerbated by the presence of a sickle that will come out of the Mount Bromo area.

Then from there several tourers, win driver, and agent representative began to visit the TNBTS BB officer at the counter to submit complaints about the situation.

"They surrounded, pushed, and threw harsh words at the officers. It is reasonable to suspect that there were individuals who made the situation worse," he said.

Not only that, several drivers and agent representatives were also suspected of entering the Regional I National Park Management Section (SPTN) Office to look for the Head of Region I.

"Because they did not find the person concerned, they were suspected of destroying the inventory of the SPTN office, including taking the keys to the four-wheeled TNBTS BB vehicle. It is reasonable to suspect that this has been planned," he said.

TNBTS BB, said Rudi, will immediately report this incident to the authorities.

"Regarding the destruction, theft of assets, and intimidation of officers, we will immediately report it," he said.
