The Duties Of The Chairperson Of The KPK And Other Councils At BPI Danantara Will Be Reinforced

Chairman of the BPI Supervisory Board Danantara Erick Thohir said the task of the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) together with leaders of law enforcement and other institutions as the Danantara Supervisory and Accountability Committee would be confirmed. The SOE minister said the duties of each committee at BPI Danantara were being formed. Even so, Erick ensured that the newly formed Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) would be managed transparently according to President Prabowo Subianto's direction.

"Mr. President wants that, as transparently as possible, as efficiently as possible so that the results can be maximized," he said.

Previously, KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto admitted that there was no discussion before his position entered the structure of the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara).

The head of the anti-corruption commission is included in the ranks of the Danantara Supervisory and Accountability Committee together with the Head of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), the Chairman of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), the Chairman of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), the National Police Chief, and the Attorney General. They will monitor the management of funds amounting to Rp. 14,000 trillion.

"There has been no discussion (about entering the structure of the BPI Danantara Supervision and Accountability Committee or after, ed)," said Setyo when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, March 10.

Separately, KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika has spoken about the appointment of the KPK Chair in the ranks of the Danantara Supervisory and Accountability Committee. It is certain that this position will not lead to a conflict of interest.

"KPK emphasizes that there will be no conflict of interest in the management of the KPK in the Antara. Every decision taken does not affect the objectivity of the KPK in carrying out its duties," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, April 8.

In addition, the position of Chairman of the KPK referred to as the Supervision and Accountability Committee does not refer to Setyo Budiyanto, who is currently holding the position.

He straightened out the chairman of the KPK in question as an institution as a whole. "Not a personal capacity," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.

"Therefore, every evaluation, suggestion, and input that will be submitted by the KPK is an organizational decision," continued Tessa.

In the future, the anti-corruption commission is ready to collaborate with other teams consisting of the Chairman of the PPATK, the Chairman of the BPK, the Head of the BPKP, the National Police Chief and the Attorney General.

"We are committed to continuing to support efforts to improve and develop the country by carrying out supervision of BPI Danantara in a professional manner with good governance," said Tessa.

"KPK also invites the public to participate in supervising the performance of BPI Danantara as a form of public involvement in guarding national development," he concluded.
