JAKARTA - SOE Minister Erick Thohir discussed matters relating to the BUMN Law which became the legal basis for BPI Danantara together with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

He conveyed this after holding a closed audience with the head of the anti-corruption commission at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, April 29. He said he deliberately came to synchronize after the ratification of the BUMN Law.

"The presence of this Ministry of SOEs, all present ... to also start consulting but also consulting, synchronizing so that later there will be an effective agreement in accordance with existing changes," Erick told reporters at the location.

Erick also said that he would cooperate with the KPK to create a system at the Ministry of SOEs. They want to be free from racist practices.

This closed audience will be followed up with a follow-up meeting. "God willing, in the next two, three weeks we will carry out the so-called cooperation umbrella," he said.

This cooperation umbrella will also be related to BPI Danantara's affairs.

"Well, this is where we consult and all of us will create a system that was fully supported by the KPK and us from the start, the Ministry of SOEs is also a cleaning program that we encourage and so what, we can suppress what is called a corruption case," he said.

"We are suppressing (corruption, red), we are not eliminating it because it is impossible. Why is it impossible? Not because we can't afford it, but we have to build systems and leadership," continued Erick.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Johanis Tanak said he was ready to provide assistance to the Ministry of SOEs regarding the implementation of the new law. Including, monitoring BPI Danantara.

"Well, we as law enforcement agencies that have the duties and functions of eradicating corruption, will certainly support so that a criminal act of corruption does not occur in that institution," said Johanis.

"We support the current ministry, existing institutions are formed, so that the country's wealth can really be managed properly, without any loophole in the face of corruption," he concluded.
