Already Accommodating 1,200 Tons Of Garbage, TPS Sandubaya Mataram NTB Is Estimated To Overload In 2 Days

NTB - Mataramd City Government (Pemkot) i West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, predicts Sandubaya Waste Shelter (TPS), in the Sweta area is predicted to be full in the next two days.

"The waste volume at the Sandubaya TPS has reached around 1,200 tons to date," said Head of the Mataram City Environment Agency (DLH) H Nizar Denny Cahyadi in Mataram, Tuesday, April 29, as reported by Antara.

To anticipate that the waste at the Sandubaya TPS does not come outside, Wednesday (30/4), the Mataram City Government was invited to a meeting with the NTB Provincial Government along with a number of related ministries such as the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Public Works, and others to discuss the issue.

If it is finished, his party targets that this week, Mataram City can dispose of garbage in a new rented place outside the Kebon Kongok Final Disposal Site (TPA), West Lombok Regency.

"For certainty, we have to wait for the final results of tomorrow morning's meeting at around 10:00 WITA," he said.

In the meeting, the most expected thing for the Mataram City Government is to issue a temporary storage permit for Mataram City waste to locations other than the Kebon Kongok TPA.

The reason is, the Mataram City Government together with West Lombok Regency, and NTB Province have rented land for temporary storage of waste during the arrangement of the Kebon Kongok TPA.

The land area that has been leased is about 6,000 square meters in the Batu Mulik area, Lembar District, West Lombok.

"The price and rental issues have been completed, just waiting for permission from the Ministry," he said.

He hopes that by looking at the almost full condition of the Sandubaya TPS, the Ministry can immediately issue a permit so that Mataram City this week can also temporarily dispose of garbage to the rented location.

"If the permit is issued this week, the waste disposal will be directed to a new location. The waste at the Sandubaya TPS will be transported gradually," he said.

Denny added, as long as the Kebon Kongok TPA is closed, Mataram City can only dispose of waste to the Kebon Kongok TPA, oneritase from usually three ritace so that more waste is accommodated at the Sandubaya TPS than to the TPA.

"To the TPA we only threw away 50 dump trucks or one ritase, while to the Sandubaya TPS we threw away two ritase or 100 dump trucks. That was the trigger for the accumulation of garbage at the Sandubaya TPS," he said.
