Serving, Not Flexing: Ministry Of Religion's Message To Hajj Officers In The Holy Land

JAKARTA - Director General of Hajj and Umrah at the Ministry of Religion Hilman Latief reminded Hajj officers to use social media wisely while carrying out their duties in the Holy Land.

He emphasized that the presence of Hajj officers is not to show off, but to serve pilgrims wholeheartedly.

"The use of social media must be natural. Show kindness, not showing flexibility, because it is not on duty for that," said Hilman when releasing the departure of the Hajj officer at Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, Jakarta, quoted by ANTARA Monday, April 28.

According to him, although the use of social media is not prohibited, its utilization must remain wise and not interfere with the main task of serving Indonesian pilgrims.

In addition, officers are also reminded to maintain commitment, not to leave their duties, and not to change uniforms while carrying out the mandate. There will be sanctions if the officer does not carry out his function or leaves the corridor.

"Travels to other cities, opening uniforms is prohibited and will be subject to severe sanctions. That cannot be done by officers," said Hilman.

Previously, the Government officially released the departure of the first batch of Hajj officers for the Hajj season 1446 Hijri/2025 AD who will serve in Saudi Arabia, especially for the work area (Dannyer) Medina and the airport.

"For non-cluster Saudi Arabian PPIH officers, we are currently departing 342 people," said Hilman Latief.

The government has officially released the departure of the first batch of Hajj officers for the Hajj season 1446 Hijri/2025 AD who will serve in Saudi Arabia, especially for the work area (Danny) Medina and the airport.

Hilman said that in welcoming the 2025 Hajj preparations, the Ministry of Religion had sent a preliminary team (advance) in the past few days. They coordinated earlier regarding the readiness of places, hotels, catering, and transportation as well.

Meanwhile, the Hajj officers who were dispatched today will be prepared to welcome the arrival of pilgrims at the airport and at hotels around the Prophet's Mosque (Markaziah).

"They have to prepare the existing infrastructure, make sure that everything is ready. Because once the congregation arrives they will be greeted at the airport, then of course they will be taken to the designated hotel," said Hilman.
