Collaborating With Goto To Build Subsidized Houses, Commission V Of The DPR Asks The Government To Be Transparent

JAKARTA - Member of Commission V DPR RI, Sudjatmiko highlighted the exploration of government cooperation with PT Gojek Tokopedia Tbk or Goto to provide subsidized housing for online drivers.

Sudjatmiko asked that this program be carried out in a transparent manner and in accordance with applicable legal provisions.

"We certainly support subsidized housing programs for online drivers. However, we ask that this program be carried out transparently both at the level of cooperation with third parties and the criteria for online drivers who are entitled to subsidized houses," said Sudjatmiko, Friday, April 11.

According to him, online drivers are people with an uncertain income level whose income is often below the Regional Minimum Wage (UMR) and many who do not have their own place of residence.

"If there is government assistance in providing subsidized houses, this will certainly help them," he said.

Sudjatmiko said that the plan is that as many as 2000 subsidized housing units will be given to online motorcycle taxi drivers. A total of 1000 units are for two-wheeled online motorcycle taxi drivers, the rest are for four-wheeled online motorcycle taxi drivers.

Online motorcycle taxi drivers are considered to be in accordance with the standard criteria for low-income people (MBR). For this reason, he reminded that this program is right on target.

"Giving subsidized houses to online motorcycle taxi drivers must be right on target, transparent and through the mechanisms and provisions that have been mutually agreed upon," said Sudjatmiko.

The man who is familiarly called Miko also asked the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas to formulate policies carefully and in detail before giving subsidies homes to online drivers. One of them is about the criteria for online drivers who are entitled to subsidies at home.

"It must be clear the criteria such as performance levels, certainty that they do not have a house, so that the ability to pay installments must be clear," he said.

Miko also warned that the subsidized house given to online drivers must be appropriate. Both in terms of building quality, access, and the availability of public facilities and social facilities.

"Don't because subsidized houses, house construction carelessly and quality are also not good. We ask that subsidized houses are livable and comfortable for people in need," he said.

Online motorcycle taxi drivers who are entitled to subsidized houses, added Miko, must also get complete information and details regarding the house to be occupied. For example, the amount of house installments, the mechanism for paying installments, to the details of the house.

"Don't buy cats in sacks. Everything must be transparent so that the target of giving subsidized houses is right on target and benefits all parties," he concluded.

As reported, from October 20, 2024 to April 8, 2025, 142,226 housing units have been built, with 100,021 units of which Home Ownership Loans (KPR) have been issued since January 1, 2025.
