Tangerang City Disdukcapil Warns Of Fraud In Digital Population Identity Activation Mode

TANGERANG - Tangerang City Population and Civil Registry Service (Disdukcapil) appealed to the public to be aware of fraudulent modes on behalf of Digital Population Identity activation services (IKD) or Digital ID cards.

This fraud is carried out by contacting residents via phone call or WhatsApp message and offering IKD activation assistance by requesting personal data verification.

"The fraud is through a phone call or whatsapp message by offering IKD activation and personal data verification. We have never gone through this procedure and it is a fraud that can have an impact on personal data," Rizal said in his statement.

The head of the Tangerang City Disdukcapil, Rizal Ridolloh, emphasized that his party had never activated IKD through WhatsApp or other communication media. He emphasized that official procedures for IKD activation can only be carried out directly at service offices that have been appointed by the government.

According to him, the public needs to be careful and not carelessly provide personal data to unknown parties because they can risk causing leakage or misuse of personal information.

"Stay alert and don't provide personal data to unknown parties to avoid the risk of fraud," he said.

Rizal also explained that the activation process or registration of Digital Population Identity can only be carried out at the Disdukcapil office, sub-district office, and sub-district office. In addition, Disdukcapil also provides services in several locations such as service booths at Tangcity Mall, Icon Walk Mall, and Tangerang City Public Service Mall (MPP) at the Tangerang City Government Center.

He asked the public to immediately ignore and report if there are parties acting on behalf of Disdukcapil and offer IKD activation through unofficial communication channels.

Meanwhile, population services in Benda Subdistrict have returned to operation from 3 to 4 April 2025. Benda Sub-district Head, Saipul Ulum, said that the services opened include recording ID cards, making family cards, making Child Identity Cards (KIA), activation of Digital Population Identity, and BPJS UHC services. This service is open from 08.00 WIB to 11.30 WIB.

Saipul explained that services are still open to ensure that residents who have just arrived in Tangerang City, especially Benda District, can immediately report their whereabouts. This is done so that the government can record migrants more accurately.

In addition, he also ensured that other population administration services would return to normal on April 8, 2025. He hopes that the public can take advantage of services that continue to operate during the Eid holiday so that all population affairs can be resolved properly.

The Tangerang City Disdukcapil again reminded the public to be more alert to all forms of fraud related to population services. The public is asked to always take care of population documents through official channels and not easily believe in offers from irresponsible parties.
